This was a great issue, Jessica -- I really like the separation of Read, Connect, Reflect from the rest of your newsletter. Your commentary is the most important part, to me, and this allows for more of that.
I'm in awe of your letting-writing to your kids. I've thought about what mine will remember, and the conversations we might have about the pandemic someday. I imagine my response will be something similar to my response to anything else in the past: "We loved you more than anything in the world. We did the best we could with the tools we had at the time. We tried really, really hard." I have to hope that, with hindsight, we'll be able to reflect in a way that we (still) can't now, and perhaps they will, too.
Thanks for sharing the article for talking to kids about all this. Another thing I do is ask my kids what their friends tell them. Because what kids tell each on the playground is wild.
